Chandrika Desai was born in Gujarat, India, and graduated from M.S. University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She moved to Canada in 2001 to pursue and expand her career as a physiotherapist, completing several courses to explore and upgrade her skills, and began practicing as a registered physiotherapist in 2004.
She has worked across a wide variety of settings — hospital-based physiotherapy, outpatient clinics, long-term care, surgery, medicine, oncology, and pulmonary rehab — and has 14 years of experience working in the community with a geriatric population. She is an ADP authorizer for mobility devices. Chandrika’s biggest goal is to help others increase their movement awareness, stability, mobility, and functional independence, while reducing pain and improving quality of life. She has also mentored PT residents and students, and loves helping people of all ages optimize their health and wellbeing.
Chandrika speaks fluent English, Hindi, and Gujarati, and understands Punjabi and some Italian. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, cooking, dancing, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
